Ecological · Sustainable · Inspired

Palo Verde Design creates gardens as habitat first: native plants, water-wise by nature, designed so bees, birds, and the whole web of life can stay. The kind of garden that looks a little wild — because someone lives there.

and lived on.

Philosophy

Our philosophy focuses on the creation of thoughtful designs that provide habitat for local wildlife, pollinators, and native plants. We believe a garden isn’t meant to be perfect. It’s meant to be lived in — by all the small lives that keep a place thriving. In practice this is exterior softscape design, the living half of a landscape: the plants, the soil, the trees, and the small habitats in between. We achieve this with a focus on:

01

Ecosystems

Providing more tree canopy, shrubs, and large native trees to support wildlife, reduce water use, and help produce cleaner air.

02

Habitat & Biodiversity

Incorporating native plants and flowering native species that provide habitat for pollinators and birds. Healthy landscapes are living and thriving.

03

Yard Management

Reducing lawn, avoiding pesticides, leaving leaves and wood to decompose on site, adding water features for birds, and removing invasives to better support life.

Let's walk your yard.

We take on a small number of projects each season and choose them based on shared vision rather than scale. We love seeing that vision come into bloom.

Or tell us about your place.

To help prepare for our first conversation, please share as much about your project as possible: your timeline, budget, square footage of the area to be landscaped, type of work to be designed (softscape, hardscape, structures/enclosures) and any other details that will help us get a sense of the space.

Word passed between neighbors is how most of our work finds us. If someone sent you, we would love to thank them.

Thank you for sending us your note.

We read and respond to every inquiry ourselves, so you will hear back from us at our earliest opportunity. If your project is time sensitive, call or text us at 949.677.6097 and we will sort it faster.

In the meantime, if you have photos of your yard or a rough sketch of what you are imagining, send them along. It helps us picture the place before we walk it.
